Pods

These forms have evolved over several years. During this time I have experimented with a variety of timbers and configurations, and continue to do so.

'Stormwood Pods 1' made of wood that became available after a major storm that hit Melbourne's Botanical Gardens in the early 2000's.

'Quarted pod' made of Australian Fiddleback Blackwood standing approximately 300mm high.

'Lace pods' made of salvaged Lemon Scented Gum and Red Gum pierced to create a fine and delicate texture, approximately 300mm high.

'Black Wattle pods 3 & 4' standing approximately 300mm high.

'Stormwood Pods 2' made of wood that became available after a major storm that hit Melbourne's Botanical Gardens in the early 2000's.

Pod Brooch 1 made of figured Australian Blackwood and Gidgee.

It measures approximately 100mm high.

'That's fire wood you know!' made of salvaged Red Ironbark (eucalyptus sideroxlyon) destined for the firewood pile - stands approximately 650mm high.

'Pod 10' made of recycled Pin Oak sourced from packing crates due to be pulped as waste material - approximately 600mm high.

'Black Wattle pod 1' standing approximately 300mm high.
